An Idea for a Garden Themed Party

I’ve always wanted to throw a garden themed party, because I think it’s easy to play and coordinate colors with this theme. We had lots of clients who had same party and this I will share some ideas I have in mind (that you may use for your own party!) Since our business is handicrafts, (Handicrafts, atbp) I’ll play with our products :-)

TABLE CENTERPIECE
For me, this is the most fun décor a mom could make for her daughter’s party – why?
You could put all the ideas you have in a small peg, thus will show how creative you are! With the theme, I specifically wanted to use our Pushcart Centerpiece

Garden Table Centerpiece

My idea is to make a standee of the celebrant (approx 12-14 inches, maybe) and make it look like she’s pushing the pushcart full of flowers. If you have more time, you may put all of these in a base (maybe a square-shaped base).
Above is a peg I made so that you’ll have a clearer idea on what my table centrepiece ideas would look like.
Some revisions:
- I’d like the pushcart centrepiece in natural wood color without gloss lacquer/spray.
- For the base, for a more “gardenish” look, you may buy “Scotchbrite” and use as an alternative to grass (Bermuda grass-looking base)

I can’t find much photo in my lappy that’s why I used my son (from his 2nd birthday party photo) as the celebrant. ;-)
For the flowers inside the pushcart, it would be better if you use fresh flowers - any flowers, shrubs will do, especially those with long stems. Just arrange it in a manner that would be seen even from afar (so the guest would appreciate it well). Also, you may put some fake butterflies, bugs as additional décor.
You can give also as an additional prize for the party!
Did you like it? :-)

STAGE DÉCOR
For the stage décor, I’m thinking of having a plain background and just use our letter standee as the main design for the base. Just add up balloons on the floor if you want to or fresh flowers in a plant box (better!)
Stage Decor

CANDY STATION
I don’t usually use glass containers for candy stations (since mostly kids are getting and enjoying the area in the party and doesn’t fit our parties ( I think glass containers fits girly-themed parties). But this time, glass containers look good for the theme.
from the web

An assortment of tall and wide-mouthed containers with colourful candies (try to incorporate the colors of the candies with the theme, if you could). Put letter-cut out of your kid’s name and add up some fake butterflies, fres flowers on the table. And, VOILA! Perfect!

Also, another option is Dessert Station: What i meant with this is  NON-candy station. All pastries, sweets, delicacies, cookies, cupcakes and cakes (as long as it's not candy)/ Just place it on nice tray and plates. That would be great, too!

GIVEAWAYS
I’ve always wanted to do this with Jacob’s last party but I forgot to coordinate with my friend [who was in-charge with the Photobooth (SEGA Pb)]. (I’ll try to do this with Jacob’s next party).
I’ll hire a photobooth (again!) and instead of giving them the photos, I’ll ask my friend to compile and print all the photos and give it to me before the party ends. It’s quite tedious but really it’s a nice idea! Anyways, photo frame would always be perfect giveaways for this theme – Just make sure all the props including the background of the photo (coordinate with you photobooth [ a garden-looking background]) are present. No other props except for those n’sync with the theme. After they printed out the photos, insert each on the photo frame specially designed for your kid’s party. We had a corporate client who used a truck as the design.

Giveaways

I think it would still fit the theme or better yet a pushcart design (same as the table centrepiece) would be used as the design. Just personalize the Truck’s name with the Celebrant name and party details. And give their own photos after the party! A very nice idea, what you think?

More ideas will be added here soon. I’m just quite tied up with lots of work, hehe..

Happy Readin’
Cheers!

Jacob Cedric's 2nd Backyardigans Pirate Party (Part III)

Part I - click here
Part II - click here

Here's the 3rd part of Jacob's 2nd Birthday Party

Party Host/Magician: CHRIS O

For this matter, i got Chris O from Kiko's Balloons. At first, to save money, I want to hire someone from the province, but good thing, I saw his performance (from another party), so I asked Ms. Kristine to give me a good performer for the party. She recommended Chris O.
He arrived just before 3 o'clock PM at the venue. We discussed regarding things I wanted, the flow of the program, etc. Also, gave him instruction on giveaways and prizes. He's good in connecting with our guests, though, at some part, they just stared at him. But, I don't mind. Everybody enjoyed him!
He prepared games for the kids and adults, performed magic and tricks, balloon twisting and ventriloquism, too! Though, i'm busy with some things during the program, I could see them enjoying especially the Ventri Act.

Plan: A Surprise 65th Birthday Party for my MIL!

My Sister-in-Law, Hannah, decided to throw a Surprise Party for my Mom-in-law. I just learned this from my husband, who's asking me of thoughts and ideas on throwing a party and giveaways and for decorations, specifically, the table centerpiece.

It's Party Planning once again! This time, I do not have control of everything :) And my husband can't even tell me what motif or theme for the party! Its really hard to prepare without a theme!
In my mind, a "Burst of Sunshine" 65th Birthday Party would be a fun theme, and utilizing Sunflower as the main theme. Since my husband relied on me on decoration ideas and for giveaways, I suggested this..
I'll update with my upcoming blogs how will and how to celebrate a Burst of Sunshine Theme! (just the giveaways and table centerpieces)..

Keep following and reading!

Circus Party - Event with a client

I'm not so sure how this works or if it really a good thing. We have a client who's based in abroad (not so sure, if it's Kuwait or London) and he planned everything for his son's 1st birthday party here in Pinas thru emails and fb.
All her orders for the event were rush. (We consider it rush, around 1-20days before the event) But we managed to finish it and on time.
It's a Vintage Circus Party for Jacob (yeah, same name as my Jakey). She invited us to come and celebrate with them.. First thought of mine was I'm shy and I do not even know her, it may look like i'm a party crasher :). I told my mom about it, and sais "Why not? She invited you, and she might introduced you to her friends, too!" Yeah I know, it would be of great help when she does that..
But, I have lots of things to attend to this weekend, we will just drop by at Shangri-la in Makati to deliver the orders, wait for her and will leave as soon as we can.. We have a family affair/reunion (unexpected), sort of since our balikbayan relatives are here in Pinas for Holy Week. Maybe it's not meant to be.. But I really appreciate the gesture.
I'll just share all the designs we have for the Circus Party -- and she ordered a lot of items!

Birthday Party Giveaways

It's been weeks since Jacob's Party.. Still, I'm thrilled and nostalgic thinking how I pull it off the way I wanted it...
from the decors, to the performers, to the party entertainments, the foods and the prizes and giveaways.

I'll share to you how my Jacob's Party helped our business in bringing out more clients!

Giveaways for the kids:
I wasn't really expecting that much kids for the party - But,  I was wrong! I prepared 40 pieces of kiddie stool (which we sell [online and thru referrals]). It turned out, lots of kids weren't able to take home a piece of it. I just sent them after the party (well, those who are just close to our family).
I just make sticker label and put it on one of the legs of the kiddie stool.

Updated! Jacob 1st Birthday party Preparation

Whew! after the last blog i posted for the upcoming Sesame Street Party of Jacob, my plan turned 360degrees!! Most of the important details of the party has been changed! Good thing for me, as early as 2010 started, i'm already planning and setting my mind straight..
Here's what I've learned from planning half a year ahead of time:

a. Lots of time to prepare
1. finances - this subject worry me much from the start, though i know we have enough, alloted budget for this, but for me to give Jacob a perfect and grand 1st b-day party - it's one of a heck bunch of moolahs!!
Adv: Good thing about this was, i have ample time to search for the best and affordable supplies, suppliers that would fit into my pocket.
Disadv: Too many inputs, opinions shared by other moms on the forum added another page inmy party checklist! = more moolahs to spend!!

2. theme - though from the start Sesame Street was the only theme on my mind,  but with the release of 2010 movies, my gosh-- i thought i gonna cancel all my reservations and considering other themes..
adv: as early as my theme was set, i searched where to buy supplies, favors that wil fit my theme. Scout for suppliers who could provide me with this..
disadv: Too many twist crossed my mind while "googling" ex. Sesame Street Party Live! etc. waaahhh!

Anyways, here's the updated preparation for my son's party

a. Date: originally twas set on his actual natal day, but for some reason that the venue couldn't accomodate us, and the convenience of the date it was moved a day after:
Final: 12 Sept 2010
b. Venue and Caterer: at the 1st blog, i cited that we'll celebrate it at Shanghai garden Resort in Betterliving, but due to some consideration in the weather (Sept) and a possible distraction to the kids attention (by the pool), we changed the plan and decided to have it at Prestige Tower Roofdeck in Ortigas

Review and Details:
Ms. Salou of Prestige Tower, is so nice that everything i asked from her for the party, she gave in... I just hope no one will book from 10am-2pm on Sept 12...
Details: made DP (with contract on hand)
The good thing abour Prestige is I saved around 8k-10k of money since we reached 15k of reserved order for the party, the venue is free-of-charge.
