Hello Kitty Picnic 1st Birthday (October 9, 2010)

MEOW!
The classic red and blue Hello Kitty was the theme for baby girl Olivia’s 1st birthday.  Her mom picked that theme since she said Olivia looked like Hello Kitty whenever she would smile, and I had to agree with her after meeting the sweet angel!
The old-school illustrations of this popular Sanrio character were refreshing to see again, especially nowadays when Hello Kitty seems to have shed the reds and the blues, and donned everything pink in its myriad shades.
Come and see how Hello Kitty brought Olivia and her guests to a “happy picnic land” for a fun birthday afternoon :)
Red and white checkered table linens really “picni-fied” the space.  The white foldable garden chairs added so much appeal too.
See the kiddie stools below which were the party giveaways for the kids featuring Hello Kitty and her cute boyfriend :) I love the bow-tie detail! So adorable.
We also gave out picnic baskets to the kiddies with bottled water, milk, cookies, and a red apple.
Red paper pompom centerpieces with daisies in a basket! Plus, care for some fresh milk and cookies? YUM! Mommy provided these afternoon treats.
Here’s our dessert table :)
I don’t really use much balloons when I decorate, but I can’t deny how appealing they are to kids :)  They are happiness on sticks (or strings)!

 and for her another client:

A Shabby-Chic Twin Birthday Party (July 30, 2011)

Twins are double the fun and double the joy!
Sabrina and Samantha celebrated their 2nd Birthday in Shabby-Chic style, which the mom wanted to achieve by bringing a dose of the outdoor gardens in.  We transformed a penthouse residence into a land of floral prints, inspired by Rachel Ashwell’s world of “perfect imperfections.”
Mixed floral patterns for the linens, and brown garden parasols decorated with white lanterns flanked Sab & Sam’s dessert table.  White glass lanterns with flowers inside were the centerpieces for the tables.
Photos of the twins (taken by Karen Ilagan) were displayed on the tables together with fun facts about them.
Another “wow” cake by Olive Chan of All Caked Up.  I love the little bird perched on its middle layer! Too cute!
Cupcake giveaways for the adults.
More giveaways for the adults! We had tote bags custom made with Shabby-Chic fabric as their straps.  Also below, yummy BIZU Macaron de Paris in candy-colored hues.
Kids brought home little stools which we also had custom made :) I personally love the dragonfly design.
We made the most out of the existing furniture of this penthouse venue and decided to make our own Shabby-Chic lounge area! This was a hit among the adults during the party :)  See the rocking horse too?  Also custom made for the twins.
Happy Birthday Sab & Sam!!!
Are you a fan of the Shabby-Chic look?  Check out Rachel Ashwell’s books for inspirations on this design style :)

A Construction 1st Birthday (September 4, 2011)

I have been so delinquent with my blog posts, I know! And we have a backlog of such great photos to share from our parties during the last quarter of 2011. :)
First up, let me share pictures from our “Construction 1st Birthday Party” for baby Marcus.
The party was done in one of my favorite venues — the Valle Verde 4 Clubhouse.  Mommy Maan had a very distinct idea of how she wanted her son’s birthday to look and feel like, and we were very happy to have done her vision some justice.  Fun road signs marked the entrance of the venue, as well as the significant activity and play areas inside.
Here’s how the inside looked like!
Chairs in a natural wood finish were used, and assorted toys and construction elements like traffic cones and construction hats became part of the centerpieces.
Marcus’ Dessert Table and Mini Gallery.
Time for some details… the cupcakes, cookies, and birthday cake were all done by Angela Colet of Swell Sweets. Personalized bubble water bottles were also added to the dessert table — such cute containers for refreshing H2O!
TIP: Looking for toppers or other decorative elements for your cake? Take a trip to your toy store and see what small things you can put on your sweets! That’s what we did for Marcus’ birthday cake! That’s a toy bulldozer on top :)
Marcus’ Mini Gallery.
WARNING: Expect Excessive Cuteness!
Awesome cookies in construction tool shapes by French Kiss (www.frenchkisspastries.com).  Look for Belle to place your orders through 0915-7010626 :)
Kids got to bring home toolboxes with fun toys courtesy of the Mom!
A simple way we dressed up the chairs — we used ordinary CAUTION tape from the local hardware to spruce up the seats :)
Happy Birthday Marcus!!!

 From a client: http://mmymmy-maize.blogspot.com/2012/02/brents-first-f1-partey.html

Brent's First F1 Partey!

It's been 3 1/2 months since Brent's F1 birthday party. I had happily stressed myself out for 2 months for the preparation. And I am so glad how successful the party turned out (despite the negative story you will read in a while)!

Now, let me share the details of the fab party and the ratings I gave for the suppliers:

FOOD AND VENUE: Burgoo Tomas Morato – 7/10

We initially considered Rustica kaso when I was drafting na the guest list mukhang di kakasya. Pwede naman sana sa labas pero ayaw ni Brian kasi kawawa naman daw yun mga nasa labas, parang outcast.
Then we checked Burgoo at Tomas Morato. The place is really nice and syempre food is great. What I didn't like here is lahat na lang may corkage. We can't serve cakes kasi they will charge us additional fee. Di din pwede food carts. Even DIY candy corner may corkage pa din. Pero okay lang. Thinking makakamura kami kung wala non. Pero di din pala. I miscalculated our budget for this. Food for adults is almost P400/pax na without drinks pa yun. So there, medyo napamahal kami here.

CAKE: Sugarfix by Nadine – 9/10

Nadine is my officemate's sister. Pero di kasi kami close ni officemate kaya di ako dumaan sa kanya. I didn't tell Nadine din na I know her sister. Now I'm nanghihinayang sa discount, hehe. But still, Nadine gave the lowest quotation amongst all that I emailed. So sa kanya na ko nagpagawa. Cake is yummy and moist. Super tamis lang ng fondant but I love sweets eh kaya pasado sa kin.

VENUE DÉCOR: Polkadots by Sis Joanne – 9/10

Basic décor lang kinuha ko. The place isn't too big eh. I don't like it to look crowded because of the balloons. I love how the venue turned out. Sobrang hinayang lang ako sa balloons kasi di namin nauwi. Ang dami natira kahit nag-uwi na most of the guests.

GIVEAWAYS: Handicrafts Atbp by Grace – 10/10

All the guests love the Ferrari mini stool I ordered. Dapat for kids lang yun eh pero nun nakita na nila yun souvenir, ayun nagpuntahan na sa harap para pumila. Ubos lahat. Buti na lang nagtabi na ko sa bahay for Brent, my in-laws and my parents.

INVITATIONS: DIY – 10/10

I so love our invitation. Syempre ako gumawa eh. Hehe. We just created an event page in FB then uploaded the picture there. Dun sa mga walang fb, I used Burgoo's free invites.

PRIZES: Greenhills, CD-R king

I was planning to go to Divi but dear Brian didn't want. Na-trauma nun last time na nagpunta kami don during our wedding preps. So we opted to buy na lang the prizes sa Greenhills para di ganon ka-hassle. Hay, mahal din pala don. Yun 2k ko, less than 30 prizes lang. So we got the kulang na lang sa CD-R King sa Trinoma. They got a huge store there na super dami mabibili and sobrang mura. We
got stickers, memo pads, wall decals, mouse pads and cd cases. Dun na din namin binili yun prizes for adults. I spent a little over P500 for 20 items.

HOST: Jiggles the balloon lady – 9/10

Kuya Harvey, may problema?

All the guests love Jiggles! At first parang bored sila, pero when adults got involved with the games, ayun super saya na sila. Especially during the balloon show. Walang tao sa likod. Lahat nasa harap to watch her perform. Days and weeks after the party, I still receive compliments about our host. Super sulit!

COSTUME: Partyboosters by Jacqueline Tan – 10/10

I love Brent's costume. It fits him well and he's so gwapo wearing it!

PHOTOGRAPHER: Primera Litratista by Lei Lorenzo– 3/10

The reason we got a photographer is to have good memories preserved on prints. I shouldn't have gotten one kasi I have a Tito naman who is a professional photographer. Pero I chose to get na din kasi guest din siya. He has to enjoy the party also and gusto ko yun maoobliga ko na sundan kami para makuhanan and to make sure na lahat ng guests e mapicture-an din. Oh well, I failed. During the event, iba ang photographer na dumating sa min. Pinadala daw siya ni Lei kasi she can't make it. Nagulat ako kasi wala naman pasabi si Lei. Pero I didn't mind. I just told him na make sure you take the pics of all our guests (we only have 110 guests) and lots of Brent's din. Ilan beses ko siya hinanap kasi nawawala siya during the party. And by the way, he's only using Nikon D60 with the kit lens! Wala na ibang dala. Needless to say, when I saw the pics sobrang palpak! Blurred, overexposed, bad lighting and di lahat ng guests eh nakuhanan. Sobrang badtrip talaga ko with that photographer pero mas badtrip ako kay Lei. Siya ang kausap ko eh, dapat siya yun nandon. Service niya ang kinuha ko hindi kung sino man. To make it worse, when I received the pictures which were edited by Lei, may mga nakasama na pictures nun photographer at ng girlfriend niya. Di man lang inalis! Kasama pa sa free na AVP. Pano ko naman magagamit yun? At di pa dyan nagtatapos, may free na 2 blown up pics kami. Yun isa pic ng celebrant and yun isa family pic. Guess what? Ibang family yun pinadala. I texted Lei and told her lahat ng kapalpakan. Till now no reply from her. Two months bago mapadala the correct blown up picture. She's a big disappointment. Good thing, we have lots of quality pictures from our own camera, family and friends. If not because of the free pre-event photo shoot which was taken by her, I'll give her a 1!

That's it pansit! :)
The gifted child :)

Simple Graphics for Handicrafts Atbp.

Since i was happy and satisfied with my stool orders with Handicrafts Atbp., It inspired me to make them a simple graphic art for their business. Since most of their products are made of wood...i used elements which has wood effect like the background and font.

So which is better the 1st or the 2nd design?

It was thru smart parenting‘s forum that I came to here about Handicrafts atbp. I saw their works and I find it cute. To be honest, I wasn’t considering ordering from them at first until I thought of why not ask if they could produce something that I had in mind.
Twinkle’s party would be princess themed. I saw some princess characters readily available on Handicrafts’ site but I didn’t like it too much, yes it’s nice but it cannot be given to the boys.
Until I inquired and gave all the details that I wanted to Grace.
Here is the picture of what I was requesting…
A crown-shaped kiddie stool that should come in pink and blue colors… simple right? But I wanted some details to be written in the middle of this kiddie chair :)
Grace said they can do it, and they can give it to me on the date I requested (which was really ahead of the party, I didn’t want any problems with the schedule)
And with that, I gave in :)
After a few weeks, Grace emailed the sample to me. I liked it! :) and gave the go-signal to mass produce.. hehehe
And as scheduled, Aug3 the kiddie stools are ready for pick-up… here they are…
.. a closer look…
nice eh? :)
Hopefully the kids attending Twinkle’s party will like this (as much as I do).. hehehe
So Handicrafts atbp’s rating? 5/5!

From a Blogger: The Dream House Project

Discovery: Handicrafts, Atbp

I have been featuring in my previous posts about Learning Discovery online store that I discovered from a blogging friend. But I am so happy to find out that we have a local supplier here that does the same stuff.

The company’s name is Handicrafts, Atbp. Just look at some of their wood furniture:

They have cabinets, table and chair set, kiddie stools, study table, CD/DVD rack, storage box, dresser, kid’s playhouse, kid’s kitchen set and many more.

I think they can also customize designs as I saw from their Facebook site different designs and themes of different cartoon characters. They even accept bulk orders so they can be a perfect giveaway for parties also.

Hubby wants to visit their store as he wants to see in person the quality of their products but I don’t know where their store is exactly located or if they even have one. But at least now I know a local supplier on where we can order the furniture for our kids’ bedroom and playroom.

Francis 7th Birthday

This is an overdue post but I left for Indonesia a day after the party so here, late post.
It was a fine Sunday held at Jollibe Molino at exactly 3:00 PM. We arrived at Jollibee 15 minutes before 3:00 but since we had to wait for more guests, the party started at 3:30 PM.
Party Giveaways: Mini Stool at 75.00 each (wholesale, otherwise 95.00 each) Handicrafts Atbp .
I was looking for giveways but since I didnt have much time to prepare so I searched for suppliers in Facebook and Multiply. Luckily, after checking the Kiddie Party thread in Girltalk, I read about them and checked their Facebook account.

Cake: 10″ round fondant cake from Nories Kitchen.
Hey, I just realized that some of the photos are not with me.. will be posting this live but will update for more party pics.

Date: December 5, 2010
Time: 11am-2pm
Venue: Shakeys E Rodriguez Ave

Just want to share with you my party suppliers who all made my daughter's 3rd birthday party memorable! I just hope this would help mommies in planning for their kids future parties!

4 - PERFECT! Awesome! Love it very much!
3 - Good Job!!!
2 - It's ok. But it could have been better.
1 - I'm not going to get them again.

Venue: Shakeys E Rodriguez
Peso Power: free venue rental

I got their Main Dining Hall for initially 100 pax, but then during the party, the guests ballooned to 134! Jen is the name of the girl I talked with at Shakeys. She was good. She coordinated with my host as to the time when the food should be served. The staffs were visible. They were assisting the guests at the buffet table. Overall, I am happy with the service of Shakeys E Rodriguez.

Food: Monster Meal Deal x 10
Peso Power: almost 20k

I am glad that Shakeys have packages such as Monster Meal Deal. It is the perfect meal set for large groups such as Birthday Parties.

The set contains crisp brick-oven baked Manager’s Choice and large Pepperoni Thin Crust Pizza, paired with two pasta dishes: the Classic Spaghetti and Carbonara Supreme Platter. On top of all that, an awesome twosome Chick ‘N Chips Party Pack served with 3 pitchers of ice cold Coke. But during the party, I have ordered 10 packages of Monster Meal Deal, with 60 glasses each of coke and iced tea, presented in a buffet style.

I have learned about them from Smart Parenting Forum. Since balloon set up wasn't really a big priority, I just settled for something cheap and affordable. Ms Jesslyn was easy to transact with. I had no problems coordinating with her, just a few exchanges of emails and a 1k deposit at her BDO account. I got entrance and cake arches. 50 pcs ceiling balloons, 50 pcs balloon on sticks, 2 pillars and 1 big balloon burst with 15 small balloon inside. I gave them a 9/10 because they came in a little late.

Cake: The Pastry Chef

Again, I have to thank mommies at Smart Parenting Forum for this referral. I was really keen on finding the right cake supplier, who wouldn't charge so high yet who could give me the cake that I want. I have already a cake layout made by a friend, and I was looking for possible suppliers when I heard about Ms Jenny of The Pastry Chef. The cake was 2 layered, chocolate moist, BOTH LAYERS EDIBLE, 12x5 and 9x5 with a Dora stuffed toy on top. Cake was yummy and not too sweet. Just the way I like it. I was surprised that she personally delivers the cake, all the way from Bulacan, she only charged me P2900 with delivery fee. And have I mentioned that she's pretty too?

If you are looking for a great children's host, Ms Jen Belen is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

She has great Interpersonal Skills, because she can deal both with kids and adults. With terrific Communication Skills, because she can give instructions effectively. With Leadership skills, because she can lead everybody throughout the party and with Organizational skills, because she can make the party fun and moving at the right pace.

This is the Kiddie Package I got for 3 hours: Character hosting dressed in a party themed costume (in my case, Dora outfit) with 2 hosts' assistants, hosting and games facilitation, interactive musical balloon twisting, magic tricks, touch of stage music and educational entertainment with complete sound system.

She had been so great with my guests! Very Awesome and Energetic, never a dull moment during the program! Thank you very very much!!!

Yup, you read it right. I got their service for free. Last October, I was one of the lucky 5 clients who were given free kiddie photo coverage for free during their Launch Pad Promo. I am thankful for the wife of Ramon (the main photography) who is a GTalker named MommyD, who posted about their promo at their site. I got interested and thus availed of their services right away. Ramon was very easy to deal with. Just a few SMS , one call, and 2 emails were done. He and one more photographer were at the venue early, since they came from Paranaque City. They were taking pictures continuously. I got the final output 8 days after the party. I am very satisfied with their shots.

Need I say more? It's been proven already -- from Janina's 1st party at Prestige, and 2nd party at Jollibee, to her present party at Shakeys -- I only have one word for this couple of Thor and Carmela: AMAZING!!! I am forever grateful that they have been there with us for the past 3 years. Despite their full loaded schedule, they still managed to accommodate my request. Thumbs up to them!

My guests just love the design of the Lootbags. I didn't have it customised, that's why the lootbags have assorted designs. I just asked Ms Sheila intially 40 pcs both dora and diego bags, but 2 days before the party, i asked her again for another 10 pcs. She was ok to deal with, considering she was on her 9th month of pregnancy!

Tita Vicky volunteered to buy it online for me, then sent it through courier. It contains the pink shirt and orange shorts, dora wig, shoe covers, and backpack! I just love how Janina looked so like Dora! Too bad though, she had to remove the wig sooner or later.

Whew!!! So there... I guess that covers everything! I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and perhaps it helped you in someway in planning for a party. Overall, I could say that the party turned out great! Thanks to all my guests who came... I really wish you all enjoyed the party.

Kudos to all my suppliers. From the balloons, cake, ice cream, face painting, and to the staff and host of the party, HATS OFF to all of you! You really made one mom and daughter soooo haaaapppppyyyyy!!!!!!

Bamba’s 1st Birthday Preparation - Part 3: Invites + Souvenirs
Before I talk about the customized souvenirs we ordered for the kids, let me show you the stop motion video invite we made for our daughter’s 1st birthday. A stop motion video is a series of pictures put together to make an awesome video. I was so inspired by many short films which used this idea. Of course, Bamba’s birthday does not have to be a BIG one with all the splurges but it has to be one-of-a-kind. So here’s the link to one of our labors of love:

We sent invites through Facebook and gave them the link to this video. It was categorized as unlisted (only people with the link can view) but I changed it to be viewed publicly.
Smart Parenting’s Forum has been completely helpful with the planning process. Great thoughts and opinions have been shared by wonderful moms and I am so grateful to be part of such group. While I was browsing the souvenirs/prizes thread, several moms have recommended the works of Handicrafts, Atbp. I immediately looked it up on Google and found their website and Facebook page. And yes, they are totally right about it! It’s gaining popularity by getting 5000+ likes on Facebook!
Their team makes personalized wooden stuff such as stools, study tables, pen holders, lunchbox, and so on. What I really loved about them is that they can customized your orders according to your preferred theme. Bamba’s 1st birthday theme is Yo Gabba Gabba. I instantly opened my email and sent an inquiry to Grace of Handicrafts.
We exchanged email messages for about a week until Daddy Cjay, my bf, give me the go-signal to purchase 30 mini stools. We waited for about 2 weeks after placing my order and I was so thrilled to see the samples:

AREN’T THEY SO ADORABLE?! Kamukhang-kamukha nila diba?! After receiving the picture above thru email, I showed it to Daddy at once. And he was so delighted to see it too! The samples made us more cheerfully excited. I sent a reply to Grace while showing my biggest grin to work computer and said yes, please do the others. I was so elated. :)
Let me give you a brief rundown on the preparation:

Theme: Yo Gabba Bamba Costume Birthday Party
Food/Venue: KFC Liberty Park Branch
Souvenirs: YGG Mini Stools from Handicrafts, Atbp.
Prizes: N/A
Balloon Decors: N/A
Photobooth/Photo & Video Service: N/A
Cake: N/A
Aside from the marvelous mini stools we’ve bought from Handicrafts, my mom offered to pay for the photobooth, photo and video services! Yay!!! So now, I just have to make a research regarding that and provide the proposal to my ever supportive momma.
Of course, I have already chosen the group of people who will be covering my daughter’s birthday. So yeah, Obsura X and Starmark Photobooth will be the topic of my next post. :)
Cheers! Thanks to you all!

Grace
