Jacob's so into Backyardigans - Considering as Party Theme

When I first learned about it when a client asked about Backyardigans design. I googled and said to myself " Who are they?".. And last Jacob's Party, he received lots of DVDs as gifts - including Backyardigans.. He all watched the DVDs except for the Backyardigans - but after sometime, he got bored, so I played it..
Poof! He likes it.. At first, he's just staring at the TV, but after few minutes, he started to march as if dancing to the tune! I'm just so impressed.. They caught Jakey's attention.. Giggling over the episode "Secret Mission" when Pablo, Uniqua and Tyrone says "Dunt Da da.." or "waa waa wah.."
Here's a clip of the opening song which makes Jacob dance and march..

Now that Jacob's turning 2 on September, I'm considering this as his 2nd Birthday Party Theme.. Whatcha think? (TIA for the opinion). Moreover, I asked our production to make Jacob his Backyardigan Kiddie Stool.

Party Program

I love party planning.. and it usually took most of my time preparing for events - for my son, my family and friends.. And one thing that is really important is the flow of the party. This is a make or break regarding how successful you party would become.
Last Jacob's party, I was very keen with the party host regarding this.. But, on the event itself, I just let them to their thing.. It's not my business anymore..:)

It's a first birthday party so I asked for some alterations with the program they presented to me.

I always take note of the time the program starts. So with the invitation, instead of putting
"4 o'clock sharp", I  opted for " The program starts at 4pm". So that, the guests knew that there will be a pre-party activity for the kids aside from the program proper. If they want to be part of it, they'll arrive earlier. End result, most of my guests came before 4pm - success indeed!

For the program, we followed this. (1st Birthday Party Program)

3:00  to  3:30 p.m.   Welcoming of the Guests
Other activities:
Balloon Twisting/Coloring Contest /Story telling
Table Magic/  Practice of action songs

3:30 to 4:30 pm   PARLOR GAMES for kids & ADULTS
Bubbly host from Lambert Flores' team. Sure knows how to entertain the guests!

 Daddy's participation during the party.

4:30 to 4:45 pm   CHOWTIME/FOOD DISTRIBUTION

4:45 to 5:00pm Optical Illussion Show

5:00 to 5:15 pm  DAVID BLAINE  STREET MAGIC SHOW

5:15 to 5:30 pm  CAKE BLOWING/GROUP PICTURE TAKING

Where are you, daddy? :)
5:30 to 6:30 pm   The BUBBLE ARTISTRY & BUBBLESHOW

6:30 to 6:45pm   Distribution of Give Away bags/Souvenirs/Others

balloon burst

END of the PARTY

Take note of the Cake Blowing - in a usual party program, it's usually on the end/last part of the program, but i asked them to move it a bit earlier, my baby might be asleep during those times (though that didn't happened :) - Jacob really enjoyed his party).

Excited for the Party!

Whew! I can't believe that Jacob's party is less than 3 weeks from now. I am just wishing for 3 three things:
  • No rains,floods,typhoons or any calamities/ uncontrolled situations/incidents on Sept 11 and Sept 12
  • Our invited guests would come and ON Time
  • The Suppliers will me and/or exceed my expectation

No time to Blog!

Now I know, It's really hard to earn money.. You might ask, "is this the first time I ever work or have a job?!"
The answer is NO.. But now, I could really say.. I'm having hard time this is..

Right after I graduated from college, I already start working for hospital.. Had some time off(for couple of months) and then back to work until today.. The only thing I hate with my work is the schedule.. It's really hard time to plan vacations.. But at least it's a 8-5 or a 24-hr duty thing.. and it ends there, right after I step out of the room..

Now, that I am putting business of my own, I could say that it is really hard to earn money. I have to be online and deal with different type of clients (most of them are nice :) ) and sacrifice my usual 8-hour sleep routine. I need to be on the clock and on my mobile 24/7 so I could attend to every question they wanted to know from me. I am not complaining.. It's fun! But sometimes I feel guilty.. I'm not a full-time mom anymore! My schedule is now divided to three! family - home - business.

More guilt?! I now set aside my son's party preparation because of our business. I know, he knows, my parents and husband knows, I am doing this for our family..
Moreover, less time to blog! Haist.. please do bear with me..

Can't Choose - HELP!

Jacob's birthday is fast approaching and I am just as excited as everyone else around him. The clock is ticking.. the day is running .. next thing we know, it's Party Time!
But I still need to fix things for the party - I need your help!
Food cart - food cart and food cart.. Can't choose what to pick!
I already have food station for sweet-toothed guests:
  • My chocolate heaven Dessert Station - I availed their Platinum Package! and added Gourmet Donuts as well.. I'm just so thrilled for this..
  • Party DIY - Candy station named after the famous store in the Sesame Street: "MR HOOPER'S Candy Store!" I already bought jars and buckets for the candies and chocolates for the kids and kids-at-heart. Even the candy lootbag is a DIY - Soo OC mommy!
But, how about the diabetic guests? (peace) :)
I'm torn between these, please help me pick.. Thank You!

I'm so in love with Shooshoos!!

I'm super in love with Shooshoos

The first time I saw them..I know it's perfect for my son.. It's the first ever shoe I bought for him (since most are gifts from friends and relatives).. and I couldn't settle for less.

I hunted and hunted for Pediped shoes and Shooshoos and find out that they will be one of the exhibitors in the upcoming bazaar of Expo Mom last May - I convinced my husband that we really need to go to Expo Mom.. because of Shooshoos!

And there, I met Ms. Kim, whose as lovely as her face. (I always texted him Ms. Kristine - who the he** is Kristine?!haha) Very accomodating - and right then and there, I know it won't be the last time I'll purchase shooshoos.
I'm so in love with it! Why?
  • the shoes look so comfty for baby's tiny feet
  • made of nappa leather
  • perfect as walking shoes
  • very stylish and no tie ribbon/shoe lace that would cause any accident to the baby
Here's the 1st Shooshoos I bought for Jacob:

Isn't it lovely?!
And from the time I handed this to my son, he walked with it-- and I could see in his eyes how much he adores his new shoes - well, like mother like son hehe..

I'm such a stage mom, I sent photo to them and I just love them, really! They posted it on their site, even on their blog, welcoming Jacob as one of the shooshoos babies!

9 months old pictorial

Since, I'm just a first time mom, I never thought he would outgrew this in 2 months time! Waahhh..
That's why I decided to get Jacob his 2nd and 3rd pair of shooshoos. This time, I just texted Ms. Kim for my orders, and the following day, my husband DPied thru their bank account.

And here are Jacob's new pairs shooshoos.

So adorable!!Thank you Ms. Kim! And 'til next time! :)

P.S And they're on sale too!!
