Fancy Nancy Party

If I have a Baby Girl - this would be her 1st Birthday Party Theme! It's so Fancy - soo girly .. and soooo Fab!
Here are some of the Fancy Nancy designs and products we have (Handicrafts, atbp) and was ordered to us by Ms. Claudine of Do Me a Favor Party and Ms. Mae Perey for a friend's daughter 7th Birthday Bash in Makati Shangrila.

Tha Uniqueness of the Party? Her PP had the Table Centerpiece custom made just for the party. I only have the raw photo but the concept for the centerpiece was - The dress of Fancy Nancy is really an actual dress worn over the Table Centerpiece we prepared. Isn't it sooo unique?

For the giveaways and prizes, they ordered assortment of our products with the design based on the character.

An Idea for a Garden Themed Party

I’ve always wanted to throw a garden themed party, because I think it’s easy to play and coordinate colors with this theme. We had lots of clients who had same party and this I will share some ideas I have in mind (that you may use for your own party!) Since our business is handicrafts, (Handicrafts, atbp) I’ll play with our products :-)

TABLE CENTERPIECE
For me, this is the most fun décor a mom could make for her daughter’s party – why?
You could put all the ideas you have in a small peg, thus will show how creative you are! With the theme, I specifically wanted to use our Pushcart Centerpiece

Garden Table Centerpiece

My idea is to make a standee of the celebrant (approx 12-14 inches, maybe) and make it look like she’s pushing the pushcart full of flowers. If you have more time, you may put all of these in a base (maybe a square-shaped base).
Above is a peg I made so that you’ll have a clearer idea on what my table centrepiece ideas would look like.
Some revisions:
- I’d like the pushcart centrepiece in natural wood color without gloss lacquer/spray.
- For the base, for a more “gardenish” look, you may buy “Scotchbrite” and use as an alternative to grass (Bermuda grass-looking base)

I can’t find much photo in my lappy that’s why I used my son (from his 2nd birthday party photo) as the celebrant. ;-)
For the flowers inside the pushcart, it would be better if you use fresh flowers - any flowers, shrubs will do, especially those with long stems. Just arrange it in a manner that would be seen even from afar (so the guest would appreciate it well). Also, you may put some fake butterflies, bugs as additional décor.
You can give also as an additional prize for the party!
Did you like it? :-)

STAGE DÉCOR
For the stage décor, I’m thinking of having a plain background and just use our letter standee as the main design for the base. Just add up balloons on the floor if you want to or fresh flowers in a plant box (better!)
Stage Decor

CANDY STATION
I don’t usually use glass containers for candy stations (since mostly kids are getting and enjoying the area in the party and doesn’t fit our parties ( I think glass containers fits girly-themed parties). But this time, glass containers look good for the theme.
from the web

An assortment of tall and wide-mouthed containers with colourful candies (try to incorporate the colors of the candies with the theme, if you could). Put letter-cut out of your kid’s name and add up some fake butterflies, fres flowers on the table. And, VOILA! Perfect!

Also, another option is Dessert Station: What i meant with this is  NON-candy station. All pastries, sweets, delicacies, cookies, cupcakes and cakes (as long as it's not candy)/ Just place it on nice tray and plates. That would be great, too!

GIVEAWAYS
I’ve always wanted to do this with Jacob’s last party but I forgot to coordinate with my friend [who was in-charge with the Photobooth (SEGA Pb)]. (I’ll try to do this with Jacob’s next party).
I’ll hire a photobooth (again!) and instead of giving them the photos, I’ll ask my friend to compile and print all the photos and give it to me before the party ends. It’s quite tedious but really it’s a nice idea! Anyways, photo frame would always be perfect giveaways for this theme – Just make sure all the props including the background of the photo (coordinate with you photobooth [ a garden-looking background]) are present. No other props except for those n’sync with the theme. After they printed out the photos, insert each on the photo frame specially designed for your kid’s party. We had a corporate client who used a truck as the design.

Giveaways

I think it would still fit the theme or better yet a pushcart design (same as the table centrepiece) would be used as the design. Just personalize the Truck’s name with the Celebrant name and party details. And give their own photos after the party! A very nice idea, what you think?

More ideas will be added here soon. I’m just quite tied up with lots of work, hehe..

Happy Readin’
Cheers!

Jacob Cedric's 2nd Backyardigans Pirate Party (Part III)

Part I - click here
Part II - click here

Here's the 3rd part of Jacob's 2nd Birthday Party

Party Host/Magician: CHRIS O

For this matter, i got Chris O from Kiko's Balloons. At first, to save money, I want to hire someone from the province, but good thing, I saw his performance (from another party), so I asked Ms. Kristine to give me a good performer for the party. She recommended Chris O.
He arrived just before 3 o'clock PM at the venue. We discussed regarding things I wanted, the flow of the program, etc. Also, gave him instruction on giveaways and prizes. He's good in connecting with our guests, though, at some part, they just stared at him. But, I don't mind. Everybody enjoyed him!
He prepared games for the kids and adults, performed magic and tricks, balloon twisting and ventriloquism, too! Though, i'm busy with some things during the program, I could see them enjoying especially the Ventri Act.

Jacob Cedric's 2nd Backyardigans Party (Part II)

Here's the 2nd part of Jacob's Pirate Party

Decors:
I tried looking for another supplier for Jacob’s party but they quoted me way too high. Maybe because it will be our first party together, so, I decided to contact again Kiko’s Balloons and Services. They’re the ones who made Jacob’s 1st Birthday so fab! But this time, I decided to allot less budget on this. I availed same party package as from last year’s Sesame Street party. The only difference is I opted for tarpaulin than styro backdrops. Reasons why I chose this:
      □ Quite expensive for a 2nd Birthday Party though I really wanted it
    □ I remembered the crews (during planning stage), since they'll all coming from Manila, they will be leaving the venue just after the party wrapped up! I felt guilty, so Tarpaulin was the best thing.

I just instructed Ms. Kristine through e-mail I wanted a ceiling long balloon drop-like décor since the venue has high-ceiling. Color combination would only be: red-white-black, since it’s a Pirate Party. And they executed it soo well!

Jacob Cedric's 2nd Backyardigans Pirate Party (Part I)

Yay! At last, Jacob’s party was over – and it was a Blast! I’m so excited to share all the ideas, details and photos from his 2nd Backyardigans Pirate Party! Here are the details, enjoy!
Theme: Backyardigans Pirate Party My Jacob is soo into Backyardigans – thanks too Amos (nephew of our friend, Arnel) who gave the DVDs as a gift on his 1st birthday. I, personally thought of having its one episode as his theme for the 2nd party. I was torn between “Heart of the Jungle and “Pirate says Arrr” episodes – but with the venue we rented , Pirate theme fits!
(Note: 2nd party – it wasn’t a plan to have a 2nd birthday party as big as this [as I promised my husband last year :-)], but my mother requested to have a party (though not this grand) in Laguna since the 1st party was is Manila (Ortigas – click here for 1st Sesame Street Party).
Party Planning in Laguna (or Province, in general) or throwing a not so ordinary, unique party in the province is quite difficult to pull off! The suppliers are very limited, or if opt to bring them from Manila, the rate is waaay higher! I’m so glad I had close group of contacts (suppliers), and for second time in a row, they made Jacob’s party truly memorable and special for everyone.

2nd birthday Party: Backyardigans Pirate Update

It's been a while since I post here in my blog. I've been busy for the past weeks with travel, work and business.
And now, in less than 4 months until Jacob's 2nd Birthday - here are some of the details I have done for this special party - his 2nd!

Date: 11 September 2011 (Sunday) - This is his actual birthday!
Theme: Backyardigans Pirate Party - Jacob is soo hooked with Pablo and the gang, so I decided it would be soo much fun to throw a party with them as the theme - but with a twist! It is a pirate party, too!!
Jacob loves the Arrr! Pirates episode - he even dances with the all the songs played in the episode.. And this is Jacob's fave song -

Venue: Panguil River eco-Park, Laguna
It's my first choice for the venue but for some reasons we had to consider offer from my mom's friend who is willing to lend the venue for free. But it's quite a hassle if we have to provide every thing - including tables and chairs. So we decided to rent this place for the party. (blog here)
Already settled downpayment.

Advantages:
  • fits our theme well! And I love the hanging bridge! It's like you are " walking on the plank" in pirates' lingo (language)
  • Very spacious! Perfect for kid's party - I love the ceiling, too!

  • Rental is good for 1 whole day, I know , right?! Very affordable and we have more time for the preparation and party itself!
  • With sound system and linen included
Disadvantages:
  • Quite far from Manila - I hope our Manila friends will attend Jacob's Party
  • Linen available is brown - I hope they could provide more and colorful colored linens by September
Printables - already made the designs. For printing.
Invitations - DIY by Me> for printing

Other details, will be posted. I just have to attend to some things. Will update!

Jacob Marthy's 1st Birthday: A Vintage Circus Party

As per my previous blog, I said I can't attend the event.. But on a sudden change of schedule, we made it! Jojo and I managed to attend and enjoy (for a while) Jacob Marthy's 1st Circus Birthday Party.
Jacob Marthy is the 1st born of a client, Ms. Mae, a client of mine I met thru Fb. We just communicate during the whole ordering process via YM and e-mail exchanges.
At the Makati Shangri-la, we get pass through the Service Door (back area) where all the cooking, etc happens inside the hotel. A Set-up Crew ID was given to us. I wish I took pictures of everything, but I;m quite pre-occupied with the delivery.
When I saw the Quezon Ballroom (setup time, around 12:30/1:00 pm), I told myself, it is really a special and grand birthday for Jacob :)
We dropped off (me and Jojo) the items and texted Ms. Mae that will come back around 5:00 pm.
(Our mini gathering was canceled, and re-scheduled this coming week since my cousins will be here in pinas on the 25th, so we just kill our time at the mall, [separate blog on this topic])
We came back at around 5:00 and instead of Service Area we parked at the Basement of the Hotel :)
I met Ms. Mae, and she introduced me to her friend, Ms. Claudine (who I think decorated the Whole Ballroom) Jacob is really a Lucky Baby!
Too bad, I didn't have any photo of Jacob..
Anyways, Happy Birthday Jacob Marthy!!

Jacob's 1st Birthday: Complete Details

Many people were asking me for the complete details of Jacob's last year Sesame Street Party. This was posted by me in kiddieparty.com. Have fun reading! And for comments, you have leave it here.. Cheers!

It's been a while since we had Jacob's Party. But the memory and experience was something I could treasure for a lifetime. And I'm so proud of it so I decided to share it with you!

Date: 12 Sept 2010
Venue: Prestige Tower Roofdeck, Ortigas Pasig City
Time: program starts at 4pm
Theme: Sesame Street Party

Reason why I chose Sesame Street as the theme for the party: Since Jacob can't choose his own theme for the party, I did! I'm not a big fan of sesame st but the songs and music from the TV series was the first thing that came into my mind when i started to plan Jacob's party. Also, it's a very colorful theme! Perfect way to start Jacob's colorful life with us..

The planning stage started as early his 3rd month bday (right after his christening).

Venue: Prestige Tower Roofdeck
Ratings: 4/5
Ms. Salou was very accommodating in terms of quick replies and assurance of everything I need for the party. Booked as early as April. The only flaw I encountered (but not a major one) was the venue has low ceiling, i just informed the planner of this so she/they could adjust with the decor i wanted for the party.
No corkages for food we brought in. We occupy the whole area for the party since it was quite a big one.
Peso Power: free when you availed their catering service (P15000 and up)
Included in the contract:
FUNCTION ROOMS

Function Room 2 can accommodate up to 120 people with a rate of P1,500/hour. Function Room 3 can accommodate up to 50 people with a rate of P1000/hour. - Jacob's Party was over 200 but still they accommodate it.

Amenities:

o tables and chairs - covered
o mantle and tablecloths - i chose Gold,Emeral Green, Blue and Maroon
o flower arrangement for the buffet table
o centerpieces for each table - we have our own table centerpiece
o stage
o overhead screen
o podium
o sound system (amplifier, speakers, microphone)

To avail free use of our function room for 4 hours, the client must have at least P15,000 worth of food catering booking. In excess of 4 hours, standard rates will apply.

Price: P260/per x 150 = P39000.00

Additional foods where brought in and prepared by my Mom and my MIL. Good thing! because expected number of guests exceeded our list! about 50-60! and that's huge number for non-RSVP guests Smile

Embutido by my Mom (hers)

Gryn Wasabi- Makati Branch - ordered morning of the party. 2 big bilao of mixed sushi. Affordable and everybody took a piece of it.

For the kid's meal, we decided not to avail Chow's Menu since i read feedbacks with the Spaghetti, i just paid extra P700 for the tables and chairs for the kids. To personalized it, I put a sticker on each styropacks with "Jacob's 1st Birthday" Party Pack.

Foods: prepared by MIL
Fried Chicken
Spaghetti
Sunkist Tetra Juice Pack

Price: free (c/o them) except for the Tetrapacks. Originally I was looking and wanted an exclusive sesame st party even for the drinks. I saw Apple and Eve's Sesame Street Tetrapack Juices, but no to avail here in the Phils ( I checked everywhere), so I opted for Sunkist Tetrapack Juice.

It's the most affordable yet still expensive for decors Smile but i super loved it! i didn't regret to shelled out such moolahs for this party.
I just informed Ms. Kristine regarding the low ceiling, emailed them the photos of the venue (prior meeting). And i wanted Ballloon drops for ceiling decors, no more no less.
End result - uber nice party!
My cousin from US, Ate San, sent us a package with these uber cute decors.. it's a generic 1st birthday decor, but really makes every inch of it (decor) unique and special..
Swirl Hanging Decor

Entertainment: Lambert Flores Bubbleshow

it's the 2nd supplier we booked after the venue. Saw his ad on multiply and inquired. We availed his P8000 package but on the eve of the party, we contacted them.. It was him who will perform and moreover, he will perform the P12000 package! I super like!
Everybody enjoyed the party because of them. Lively hosting (by his wife), and everyone participated. They asked me to prepare 60 major and 40 minor prizes. But, i ended up more since i have balloon burst - i prepared 50 pcs for this. But during the party, other giveaways were given as prizes also! i don't know why.. i just didn't have any control with this - but it's ok. the good thing was i had lots of giveaways prepared for Jacob's party.
4-5 crews were present and they're very organized when it comes to the program and party itself.

Invitation: I personally made this invites for Jacob's party. Since at first i was planning to have a Sesame Street Live! Party but due to restriction with the venue and design/backdrop from the decorator/supplier, we ended up with sesame st party just utilizing all the color themes. For the invites, i made a poster type and designed it this way. so proud! printed it with a laser printer, printed it on a thick 150gsm paper. for the envelopes, i bought colored papers and put a yellow feather at the back of the envelope. it's a way of saying" Big Bird wants you to be part of Jacob's big day!"
