An Idea for a Garden Themed Party

I’ve always wanted to throw a garden themed party, because I think it’s easy to play and coordinate colors with this theme. We had lots of clients who had same party and this I will share some ideas I have in mind (that you may use for your own party!) Since our business is handicrafts, (Handicrafts, atbp) I’ll play with our products :-)

TABLE CENTERPIECE
For me, this is the most fun décor a mom could make for her daughter’s party – why?
You could put all the ideas you have in a small peg, thus will show how creative you are! With the theme, I specifically wanted to use our Pushcart Centerpiece

Garden Table Centerpiece

My idea is to make a standee of the celebrant (approx 12-14 inches, maybe) and make it look like she’s pushing the pushcart full of flowers. If you have more time, you may put all of these in a base (maybe a square-shaped base).
Above is a peg I made so that you’ll have a clearer idea on what my table centrepiece ideas would look like.
Some revisions:
- I’d like the pushcart centrepiece in natural wood color without gloss lacquer/spray.
- For the base, for a more “gardenish” look, you may buy “Scotchbrite” and use as an alternative to grass (Bermuda grass-looking base)

I can’t find much photo in my lappy that’s why I used my son (from his 2nd birthday party photo) as the celebrant. ;-)
For the flowers inside the pushcart, it would be better if you use fresh flowers - any flowers, shrubs will do, especially those with long stems. Just arrange it in a manner that would be seen even from afar (so the guest would appreciate it well). Also, you may put some fake butterflies, bugs as additional décor.
You can give also as an additional prize for the party!
Did you like it? :-)

STAGE DÉCOR
For the stage décor, I’m thinking of having a plain background and just use our letter standee as the main design for the base. Just add up balloons on the floor if you want to or fresh flowers in a plant box (better!)

CANDY STATION
I don’t usually use glass containers for candy stations (since mostly kids are getting and enjoying the area in the party and doesn’t fit our parties ( I think glass containers fits girly-themed parties). But this time, glass containers look good for the theme.
from the web

An assortment of tall and wide-mouthed containers with colourful candies (try to incorporate the colors of the candies with the theme, if you could). Put letter-cut out of your kid’s name and add up some fake butterflies, fres flowers on the table. And, VOILA! Perfect!

Also, another option is Dessert Station: What i meant with this is  NON-candy station. All pastries, sweets, delicacies, cookies, cupcakes and cakes (as long as it's not candy)/ Just place it on nice tray and plates. That would be great, too!

GIVEAWAYS
I’ve always wanted to do this with Jacob’s last party but I forgot to coordinate with my friend [who was in-charge with the Photobooth (SEGA Pb)]. (I’ll try to do this with Jacob’s next party).
I’ll hire a photobooth (again!) and instead of giving them the photos, I’ll ask my friend to compile and print all the photos and give it to me before the party ends. It’s quite tedious but really it’s a nice idea! Anyways, photo frame would always be perfect giveaways for this theme – Just make sure all the props including the background of the photo (coordinate with you photobooth [ a garden-looking background]) are present. No other props except for those n’sync with the theme. After they printed out the photos, insert each on the photo frame specially designed for your kid’s party. We had a corporate client who used a truck as the design.

Giveaways

I think it would still fit the theme or better yet a pushcart design (same as the table centrepiece) would be used as the design. Just personalize the Truck’s name with the Celebrant name and party details. And give their own photos after the party! A very nice idea, what you think?

More ideas will be added here soon. I’m just quite tied up with lots of work, hehe..

Happy Readin’
Cheers!

Jacob Cedric's 2nd Backyardigans Party (Part II)

Here's the 2nd part of Jacob's Pirate Party

Decors:
I tried looking for another supplier for Jacob’s party but they quoted me way too high. Maybe because it will be our first party together, so, I decided to contact again Kiko’s Balloons and Services. They’re the ones who made Jacob’s 1st Birthday so fab! But this time, I decided to allot less budget on this. I availed same party package as from last year’s Sesame Street party. The only difference is I opted for tarpaulin than styro backdrops. Reasons why I chose this:
      □ Quite expensive for a 2nd Birthday Party though I really wanted it
    □ I remembered the crews (during planning stage), since they'll all coming from Manila, they will be leaving the venue just after the party wrapped up! I felt guilty, so Tarpaulin was the best thing.

I just instructed Ms. Kristine through e-mail I wanted a ceiling long balloon drop-like décor since the venue has high-ceiling. Color combination would only be: red-white-black, since it’s a Pirate Party. And they executed it soo well!

MIL's Surprise 65th Birthday Party!

Indeed! T'was a successful one! Kudos to my Sister-in-Law and friends for pulling this party off - Up to the last minute, my MIL don't have any idea what was going on!
I'm a few days delayed in posting details on this party.. But, still it's worth sharing to the world.
Theme: Sunflower "Burst of Sunshine" 65th Birthday Party
For: my Mom-in-Law
By: Siblings Jojo (my husband) and Hannah (sister-in-law) together with the efforts if their friends, families and relatives.
Where: David's Tea House, The Wharf @ Lakefront Sucat
When: 09 April 2011- 5-9pm

It's quite a long story..
From previous blog, I already posted that we (specifically, Me) Jojo and Me are in-charge with the party giveaways and table centerpiece since it's a business of ours.
Table Centerpiece
I'm really having hard time choosing for the appropriate centerpiece for this party. I even planned doing a DIY of paper flowers - but, since I was kinda busy with my work and our business - I do not have that much time (as I had with Jacob's Party) to do such things. So, instead, I just asked my husband to drive me to Bay, Laguna for some plant tripping. And this only happened, hours away from the party!
I just prepared the basket for the centerpiece. At first, I was looking for flower-bearing plants but ended up with Cacti-looking plant. They just covered the black plastic with white paper for a more nice-looking table centerpiece.

Since. t'was a surprise party, we drove MIL to the venue an hour after the call time. Just for everyone to be ready with their "Surprise Greetings!"

The party was hosted by Hannah's friend, Karen a.k.a Sexy Terry (over the radio). Indeed, she's a fun host for a party. There was no dull moment.

Plan: A Surprise 65th Birthday Party for my MIL!

My Sister-in-Law, Hannah, decided to throw a Surprise Party for my Mom-in-law. I just learned this from my husband, who's asking me of thoughts and ideas on throwing a party and giveaways and for decorations, specifically, the table centerpiece.

It's Party Planning once again! This time, I do not have control of everything :) And my husband can't even tell me what motif or theme for the party! Its really hard to prepare without a theme!
In my mind, a "Burst of Sunshine" 65th Birthday Party would be a fun theme, and utilizing Sunflower as the main theme. Since my husband relied on me on decoration ideas and for giveaways, I suggested this..
I'll update with my upcoming blogs how will and how to celebrate a Burst of Sunshine Theme! (just the giveaways and table centerpieces)..

Keep following and reading!

Personalized Table Centerpiece: How to make it?

It's been months since I started making table centerpieces for my son's party last September, hence, there are still queries how I made those! I really appreciate every compliment I hear from people regarding the DIY table centerpieces.
And, it's been a while since I post a new topic here in my blog, better yet, share how I made those table centerpieces. Too bad, I didn't had any of it back in our home, just photos and smiles in my online album and in my mind - how everybody loved it!
